A small member of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Water Island, lies one and a half miles from the south coast of St. Thomas. The island is by and large undeveloped and non-commercialized. It has been characterized as “St. John, 40 years ago,” and offers visitors a unique and peaceful environment to relax and unwind.

H₂O is less than 30 minutes from the St. Thomas International Airport.

There are only about 120 homes on Water Island with only 19 in Sprat Bay Estates. Water Island has a tranquility and charm that cannot be found on any of the other Virgin Islands.

Activities:

Your time at Water Island is anything you make of it: soaking in the sun at the beach, snorkeling along the beautiful coasts, hiking and exploring, enjoying a casual meal at the Pirates Ridge, a local deli, or at Heidi's Honeymoon Grill down at Honeymoon Beach. BEACHES

HONEYMOON BEACH
Honeymoon Beach is a beautiful white sand beach lined with palm trees. With calm surf and water that deepens gradually; and with a buoyed swim area the beach is ideal for children. Lunch is served daily, and a gourmet quality dinner is offered every Saturday night.

SPRAT BAY BEACH
The beach at Sprat Bay is quiet and calm, with a private swim area, and few visitors. The sand is white and soft, and the beach is lined with coconut trees. Next to the beach are tennis courts available to our guests.

SNORKELING

Water Island provides some of the best snorkeling in the U.S. Virgin Islands. For a unique experience, what about “BOB”? (Breathing Observation Bubble.) Just the boat for those who love snorkeling, Bob brings its guest to the point just off Honeymoon Beach. www.bobusvi.com.

SCUBA DIVING

H₂O on Water Island is the perfect vacation spot for scuba divers to hang their fins. Blue Island Divers operates out of Crown Bay Marina – just a seven minute ferry ride from Water Island. FISHING

If you’re into fishing, say no more! The coastal waters off the island are absolutely teaming with kingfish, mackerel, dolphin, tuna and blue marlin, to name a few. There are dozens of charter boats operating out of St. Thomas, and the “Peanut” operates out of Water Island. www.fishingstthomas.com

SAILING

Sailing in the U.S. Virgin Islands is an experience like none other! There are numerous charter boats that operate out of St. Thomas, just across the bay. They offer a variety of sailing itineraries, including two hour cruises and day trips to beautiful Buck Island; or sit back and watch the boats at H₂O heading to Buck Island.

GOLFING

SHOPPING

There is a reason why hundreds of cruise ships stop at St. Thomas daily. Some of the best shopping in the world is located just minutes from H₂O on Water Island at downtown Charlotte Amalie.

Transportation:

St. Thomas is a short, seven-minute ferry ride from Water Island. The Water Island Ferry operates daily at frequent intervals between Water Island Dock and Crown Bay Marina.

The means of transportation on Water Island is varied, and guests of H₂O have full use of its private golf cart.

H₂O is supplied with everything but food and drink. For provisioning you have several options listed below or the property manager will help make arrangements to have the provisions delivered to the house before your arrival.

GOURMET GALLERY, INC.

The Gourmet Gallery is located in Crown Bay Marina next to the Water Island Ferry. If you wish, you can order ahead and pick up your food and drink on your way to H₂O or make arrangements to have it delivered. Mary Coe, the property manager, can send you the extensive list of products available. The Gourmet Gallery is the store where the Mega Yachts provision. They carry the largest wine and spirit selection in the Virgin Islands and offer produce, meats, seafood, and specialty products from around the globe. HEIDI'S HONEYMOON GRILL

is located right on Honeymoon Beach. It offers lunch daily, and is open all day on weekends. Heidi’s burgers were rated #1 in the U.S.V.I. this year. Saturday evenings are special at Heidi’s, where guests and locals come together to share a gourmet-quality meal by candlelight on the beach. On Monday nights Heidi sets up a drive-in movie screen on Honeymoon Beach – watch the sunset then the movie with popcorn and hotdogs!
